Religious Education Program

St. Francis of Assisi Religious Education Program is for children in kindergarten through eighth grade. Kindergarten through 4th grade meets Saturdays from 9:00-10:30 a.m. September to April. 5th through 8th grade meets Mondays from 7:00-8:30 p.m., September to April. Parents may enroll their children by contacting Carol Cicci at 724-348-6190.

The purpose of the Religious Education program at St. Francis of Assisi Parish is to bring the Word of God to His children, increase their understanding of the Word, and provide an opportunity for them to grow in Faith.

Volunteers are always welcome in the Religious Education Program. We encourage you to volunteer as a catechist, classroom aid, or assistant for various projects.

Protecting God’s Children (Virtus Program)

All clergy, staff, and those who work with children must attend a session of Protecting God’s Children. The program presents valuable help to prevent sexual abuse of children by perpetrators in their homes, the church, or the neighborhood. Our Safe Environment Coordinator, Mary Jane Jurofcik, guides parishioners through the the clearance process. Contact Mary Jane at 724-344-2444.

First Friday of the Month

Eucharistic Adoration is held each 1st Friday, 6:00-9:00 p.m. Come and spend some time before the Blessed Sacrament as we pray for an increase of vocations to the religious life and for world peace.

Rosary and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament

Celebrated every Tuesday during the months of May and October at 6:30 p.m.

Stations of the Cross and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament are celebrated every Friday during Lent at 7:00 p.m.
